CS229 Project ReportPolyphonic Piano Transcription
In this project we want to employ machine learning algorithms to extract the notes that are played in a polyphonic piano song. There has been a lot of research on music transcription recently, but most of them are aimed at monophonic identification. In this project, we looked at the problem in a more general way and tried to improve the performance using different techniques(1). One of the sign...
متن کاملAn Improved Mixture-of-Gaussians Background Model with Frame Difference and Blob Tracking in Video Stream
Modeling background and segmenting moving objects are significant techniques for computer vision applications. Mixture-of-Gaussians (MoG) background model is commonly used in foreground extraction in video steam. However considering the case that the objects enter the scenery and stay for a while, the foreground extraction would fail as the objects stay still and gradually merge into the backgr...
متن کاملCS229 Project Report Offline Music Recommendation
The goal of this project was to recommend songs to users based solely on their listening histories, with no information about the music. We applied various Collaborative Filtering methods to achieve this: user-user neighborhood models, item-item neighborhood models and latent factor models. We achieved the best results with item-item cosine similarity. The code for this project can be found here.
متن کاملClassification of Iranian Traditional Music Dastgahs Using Features Based on Pitch Frequency
The Iranian traditional music is composed of seven majors Dastgahs: Chahargah, Homayoun, Mahour, Segah, Shour, Nava, and Rast-Panjgah. In this paper, a new algorithm for the classification of the Iranian traditional music Dastgahs based on pitch frequency is proposed. In this algorithm, the features of Lagrange coefficients of pitch logarithm (LCPL), Fuzzy similarity sets type 2 (FSST2), and th...
متن کاملFinding Intensities of Individual Notes in Piano Music
Timing and dynamics are two important factors in music performance. Research on dynamics-related issues is comparatively rare because data on dynamics is difficult to obtain from music performance. Nevertheless, research of this kind is vital to the understanding of music performance and here we are investigating ways to identify the intensities of individual piano notes in a mixture of simulta...
